Great restaurant - Barcelona

Hi,

The other week I went to a restaurant on Calle Flassaders 19 in Barcelona in the Born district, just off rambla del borne - and its called Montiel.

I went there the other week with work and a few clients and they all absolutely loved the food and service! The waiters speak english and the food was of great quality and a bit different. We had:

Sardines
Tuna Tartar
Foi Gras salad
Pan con tomate
lamb with potato purée and prunes
fish (dont remember all the details :) )

cost around 30-50/ person with wine

dont miss it!

London visit...delayed update

Hi there,

sorry didnt make any updates to the blog since January. Since then a lot of things have happened. I went to London for 5 days where I visited friends and worked. London really is a great place for weekend fun. I started with going out for dinner in covent garden on Friday evening then I went to the supperclub in Notting Hill which used to be Neighbourhood. I met up with lots of friends from my past and present and enjoyed a nice rasperry bellini or three :)

Saturday started with a nice walk through Hyde Park in the sunshine followed by a visit to harrods and harvey nichols (darling!) with my friend Ola who lives in Berlin but was also visiting. After that I went to see chicago and then back to the hotel like the good girl I am.

On Sunday I went to Spitalfields market with Asa and Lana (metro liverpool street) I highly recommend it, it is quite busy but surrounded by good restaurants where you can have lunch and relax before continuing your shopping spree! I went to wagamamas that have lovely food if you like noodles and oriental food.

Great Paella Restaurant

So I thought I´d recommend a restaurant here in Barcelona. At first glance the decor and the exterior doesnt exactly make it stand out from any other spanish fish restaurant but don´t be fooled! What makes this place is the staff and the quantity , quality and PRICE! you can get a big bowl full of mussles in wine for only 6 Euros and the Paella for 10 euros per person will leave you so full you wont eat for 24 hours :)

The Place is called La Barca de Salamanca and is situated in the Port Olimpic

Definately worth trying out!

Friday and Sherlock Holmes?

TGIF again!

Dog sitting went well, Kuma wanted to play all the time and give kisses and bites, very sweet! sadly I started feeling sick the night after and am still recovering. I was going to make swedish meatballs for my boyfriend´s parents today who are in town from Buenos Aires to show off my culinary skills, but I think I will pass tonight as I feel like relaxing! Maybe going to the cinema to watch the new Guy Ritchie movie "Sherlock Holmes". I do like his movies; "Lock stock and two smoking barrels", "Snatch" and "Fight club". Hopefully this new one with Robert Downey JR and Jude Law doesnt disappoint...

Now this is real winter - Stockholm 30/12

Dog "sitting"

Today I will be puppy watching (lacking a better name for it!) my friend flavias lovely 2 month puppy Kuma. Kuma was only one month when I last looked after her something tells me she is slightly bigger now a month on as I was told she weighs 9 Kilos.. 9 KILOS is a LOT for a two month puppy... Wish me and my furniture the best of luck!

will post a photo of her later!

First blog comment !!

I am Swedish but have lived outside of Sweden since 2001. First six years I lived in London working in music and now the last two years working in mobile marketing with the UK market Living in Barcelona and going to London once a month.(are you confused yet? :) )

I have always been against pointless blogging but as I travel quite a lot between London and Barcelona it might be fun for you who travel to these places to read about nice places to see and restaurants etc. Anyway hope you find it interesting or useful!
